He had her mesmerized

She didn’t even know she was jaded

A short amount of time

Before she realized she was faded

She didn’t have a clue

Of who he really was when she met him

Now she’s not able to

Assess his mood when he steps inside their gloomy home

She thought that he would be her perfect match the only one

Now he tyrannically dominates the family

Their oldest son had had enough of him and cut the strings

Little sister watched it all and wondered what to think

Cause in a world where mama is hurt by dad she often ask:

Lord up above, how can he be so sweet and then so bad?

And how come he feels nothing when harassing his family?

Why can't he see it's not right to steal my freedom, keep me locked up in misery?

And all this time they thought he just lost his mind, once in a while

But found that man is hard to tame

When the mind is an object of shame

With an inborn disease to blame

The gloomy years went on

The little girl turned into a lady

Even though daddy is gone

Her past will always haunt all her memories

The revelation came

With no more worry 'bout his behaviour

Still she remembers when

He told his wife that if they would leave him he'd end her life

And now we write 2009 but when she was a child (now we write)

Nobody talked about the flaws inside her daddy's mind (nobody)

So many years of dread and tears until they realised

It wasn't them who acted bad or stepped outside the lines (it wasn't them, no)

Living in a society that couldn't grasp his kind

She broken-hearted told her story but they thought she lied

A big taboo now will we choose to open up our minds (they thought, yeah)

And show the girl the outside world has changed and no more hides

From the reality, acknowledges necessity (they don't)

Of speaking up about the things that needs attention, please

He gave us words to being heard so go on set them free

Now it's your chance go on and seize your possibility (come on, come on, yeah)

It doesn't matter if you're black or white or young or old (let it out)

Everyone needs counselling so let the truth be told (put it out)

Come on and let the truth be told

How Come
